Ekta is a qualified CBT therapist accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) as well as being fully qualified to deliver Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.
Ekta started her career in 2012 at the Priory Hospital North London as a healthcare assistant and went on to train as a CBT therapist whilst working as part of the Highly Specialised Obsessional Disorders Team at the Priory. Ekta was part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering highly specialised CBT to both adolescents and adult inpatients and outpatients suffering from anxiety disorders including OCD, BDD, Emetophobia and Trauma.
Ekta has since then acquired an experience in delivering a mix of CBT and EMDR whilst also incorporating aspects of Compassion Focussed therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy and Mindfulness.
Ekta has a special interest in working with children and adolescents and has had a great deal of experience in working in CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) delivering inpatient and outpatient CBT therapy. When working with young people, Ekta offers occasional family sessions so that the therapy is fluid both in the therapy room and at home.
Ekta likes to adapt the therapy sessions to suit the client’s needs and has a warm and empathetic approach.

I began working with Ekta a few months ago after a severe bout of anxiety that left me struggling to function and enjoy life. While I had done CBT years ago previously, going over the techniques and creating a plan of action with Etka really helped me to get to where I am today. While I still struggle with anxiety, I'm no longer living in total overwhelm every day. When we began working together I didn't feel very hopeful that I would feel better again and although there were peaks and troughs over my time in therapy, I now feel like I can see the wood through the trees and move forward. Etka was knowledgeable about anxiety and phobias but also was able to explain the theory in a compassionate way when I wasn't feeling so hopeful or lacking self-belief.
