Trainee CBT Therapist
Emma Jewitt (MSc)
I am a Trainee CBT Therapist, currently completing my High Intensity CBT Therapist training at the University of Hertfordshire. Before completing this training, I have been fortunate to work directly with both young people and adults in the NHS and within private settings, spanning across inpatient to community care. In particular, I bring a wealth of professional experience working together with neurodivergent young people and adults and their families in clinical settings. I receive regular clinical supervision, which means that as a Trainee CBT Therapist, I work within professional BABCP guidelines to ensure I deliver quality and safe care.
My Approach
My approach centres around fostering compassion and warmth, whilst celebrating differences and individual strengths. My goal is to create a safe space for you to be your most authentic self with me. I believe that everyone deserves to tell their own individual story and feel listened to, without fear of judgement. Together, we will work towards achievable changes that will lead to a happier and fulfilling life.
How I Can Help
I draw on CBT techniques to help people with:
- Social anxiety
- Low mood or depression
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
- Emotional dysregulation
- Feelings of overwhelm and stress
- Worry and anxiety
Making Therapy Convenient
I believe that there should be no obstacles in accessing support for your mental health, and so I offer therapy sessions both online and in-person at a clinic in North London.
A Bit About Me
Growing up on a farm, it comes naturally to me to get seriously mucky for pleasure or to unwind from a busy week. I enjoy adventurous hikes, with one being the Lost City Trek in Colombia, enjoying the mindfulness that comes with the outdoors. Being a lover of running and croissants, I will often do a ‘bakery crawl’ around London which recently fuelled me to run the Yorkshire Marathon. Indulging in local delicacies often inspires me to bake, scoring me ‘brownie points’ from family and friends!
