Trainee CBT Therapist
George Garamukanwa MSc; BSc; RMN.
I'm a Mental Health Professional with 20 years of experience as a Mental Health Nurse, and I'm currently expanding my skills as a High-Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) trainee. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with both adults and young people in various NHS and private settings, from hospitals to community care. I'm registered with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), which means I work within professional guidelines to ensure you receive quality care.
How I Work With You
I believe everyone's story is unique, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Whether you're dealing with everyday stress or more complex challenges, I'm here to listen and support you. My goal is to create a warm, safe space where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. Together, we can work towards the changes you want to see in your life.
How I Can Help
I use CBT techniques to help people with:
- Feeling low or depressed
- Worry and anxiety
- Panic attacks
- Social anxiety
- Specific phobias
- OCD
- PTSD
Making Therapy Convenient
Life is busy, so I offer therapy sessions through a secure video platform. This means you can access professional support from wherever you feel most comfortable - whether that's your home, office, or another private space that works for you.
Let's Work Together
My background as a mental health nurse, combined with my CBT training, means I can offer you practical tools while maintaining a caring, collaboratively approach. I'm here to support you in reaching your goals, whatever they may be.
My Interests
I am passionate about outdoor activities, particularly wild swimming, running, and cycling. My family and I share our home with a dog and eight chickens. We've undertaken an exciting project with our chickens, selectively raising breeds that lay blue or green eggs. Our feathered friends enjoy free-ranging in our garden throughout the day.
